About

What We Do

Worthy Heart Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing clean and sober shared housing for individuals on their path to better living. Our homes are strategically located in safe, secure neighborhoods that foster pride and community. We serve veterans, adults aging out of foster care, silver singles, individuals in recovery, and those involved in the justice system. Our residents are treated with compassion, respect, and kindness as they build self-confidence and work toward self-sufficiency. They participate in regular meetings, maintain their living spaces, and adhere to house rules, all while holding jobs or pursuing education to forge new life stories. We also support medically approved treatments for addiction.

Veterans

Substance use disorder and PTSD are major factors contributing to homelessness among veterans. Without proper support, these issues can worsen, leading to homelessness. Veterans are 50% more likely to become homeless than other Americans, with 1.5 million at risk due to poverty, poor living conditions, and lack of support after discharge.

Foster Adults

Nearly 1.7 million youths experience at least one night of homelessness each year due to family issues, economic problems, or abductions. Homelessness in children, teens, and young adults often leads to low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. Those aged 12 to 21 are also at a much higher risk of drug abuse compared to their housed peers.
